Tulsa Christmas with snow!!

Rob is still in training for Schlumberger in Tulsa, Oklahoma and only got two days off for Christmas.  So Molly, Jiggs, and I shlepped up to the flatlands to see our Rob.   Since a lot of the guys wanted a Christmas dinner, I was asked to 'bring the basics' from the kitchen.  The CR-V was packed to the gills with Christmas presents, kitchenware and two dogs.  (We listened to 'My Life In France' on CD, Julia Child's autobiography about her early cooking years in France-  so good!)  To cheer the dreary apartment, Rob and I found a tree lot and a Kmart.  Even if we only had duct tape with which to hang the stockings and lights, I think it turned it nicely.

Our reward for the five hour drive was a heavenly snowfall on Christmas Eve!!  Tulsa was dumped with 8 inches and it stuck around for Christmas Day, praise the Lord.  Jiggs had never seen snow and Molly had been in it only once so Rob and I took them for a snowy walk earlier today.  They were SO FUN to watch playing, racing, and eating snow.

I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made!

You know when I sit down and rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar...
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made!

-Psalm 139:2,13-14

This little life inside of me keeps wiggling and demanding I acknowledge his presence.  More and more often I can look down in anticipation of his kicks and actually see a bump of movement!  How can a person deny the existence of an Almighty God, an Artist who used unimaginable creativity to shape every thing on earth after seeing through ultrasound and feeling a life inside of them?

Wyatt, my dear, I can't tell you how impatient I am for you to be here in my arms.  I feel like time is dragging on and perhaps maybe I might not ever see you in person.  Everyone keeps telling me that once you get here my head will be spinning and I won't sleep for eons.  Like it's a bad thing.  Come on, little buddy, I'm ready to be BUSY.
On second thought, we did have to move again to a different and vastly more comfortable rental house here in Graham.  I have been somewhat busy getting the house re-settled.  It was truly God's hand that we found this rental at the time we did.  Mom and Dad came up to help us move over Thanksgiving.  The last time they were here we were moving as well; so I told them jokingly that I don't want to move again and could you please stop coming up?  But we had such a great time with Mom, Dad, Rob and his friend, Dave that he invited from the training center in Oklahoma.  The guys even put up the old fashioned giant christmas lights that I love while Mom and I were cooking!

I'll get pictures of the inside of the house up soon!

More Changes

Things I really like:

1. The 'Winter' scented wallflower from Bath & Body Works that makes my house smell holiday-ish simply by being plugged in
2. Freshly steamed broccoli
3. Harry Potter audio books
4. Less than 50 degree weather
5. Walking in the mornings in such weather
6. The all-encompassing grace that God mercifully gives me daily
7. Feeling Wyatt kick

Things I'd rather do without:
1. Loose ligaments
2. Consistently dropping everything I touch
3. My scale- I think it's broken. Yes, I'm quite sure it's broken.

...and then I found shabbyblogs.com

thanks kat!
So here it is- my first blog post ever!  I've been informed that I am very nearly required to start a blog once I have A) been married  B) had a baby  C) bought a house.  Since I qualify for A and 5/9ths of B, here I am.

Rob just left for THREE MONTHS of training.  So I grabbed my ever-handy gallon (who needs pints) of Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream and plopped on the couch for a good long Craigslist browse for things I don't really need.  After much thought on a patio furniture set and the newest scrapbook gizmo I remembered my conversation with my sister about starting a blog.  So I googled "cute blog" and found Hot Bliggity Blog- they have super cute layouts!  You would have thought picking a blog background was the single most defining decision of my life.  I have too much time on my hands.

I will attempt to post pictures of our new rent house that mom magically transformed using an ungodly amount of hot glue and creative genius.  She and dad came up to help us settle in and deliver what we had left in storage at their house- not to mention our puppy dogs!  It's looking more like a home and less like a storage facility save for little Wyatt's room.  He's moving in last so what has no home gets thrown in there.  Sorry buddy, I'll make it up to you when you finally get here.
